On the road – Ithaca . . . . .

We left Niagara and spent 75 minutes in immigration getting our passports stamped! What a contrast between the American and Canadian side of Niagara – lets just say you haven’t seen Niagara unless you’ve been to the Canadian side!

“minivan” picked up and I’m delighted to say it’s a Toyota Sienna – luxurious enough to keep the girls happy and enough gadgets to keep the boys happy. Importantly big enough to fit all our luggage and us comfortably.

In other states, the parks don’t have much competition for tourists’ attention. But if the millions of acres of parkland in New York want to compete with all the lights of Broadway, they’ve got to work day and night to be just as spectacular. Well what we’ve seen so far they do. The “finger lakes” and Ithaca are beautiful, serene and charming. There is so much to do and it’s a shame we don’t have more time to explore. We went to Cornell which is a different league to anything in the UK

Room is actually a 2 bedroomed, 2 bathroomed suite and the boys have been to the gym and pool – yes you read that correctly! Towel ducks are cute, as yet we’ve not perfected the technique … . but working on it!
