I am the the person that was physically sea sick watching Titanic at the cinema. Whilst I have braved boats, most recently our fabulous trip to Capri, and the infamous jet skis of 2011, travelling by water is not really my thing. Steven has been desperate to go on a cruise for years, and so it’s not really right that we don’t go. There are a couple of places where being on the water adds to the destination – the Norwegian Fjords being one of them, so we booked a last minute bargain 4 weeks ago. We understand that most people spend ages choosing their cruise company, the itinerary etc – we said who sails to the fjords on Sunday 6th August? We had a choice of one and that is how we ended up on Cunard’s Queen Victoria.
We’ve listened to all the good advice from our friends, watched endless YouTube videos, booked our tours, already had an email to say there is a change in itinerary and are about to pack our evening wear – trust me, this is the smartest I will have been on any of our holidays. There is an added bonus of not having to be creative about carrying (aka hiding) my camera equipment at airport check-in to beat the hand luggage weight restrictions!
You can follow us by the map below as there will be a new marker for each new post. You can zoom in and move around to see more details on the map. The round markers are where we stay and the flags (⚑) are day trips. Any marker that is red has a post associated with it, so click on it. Details of day trips may be in the post associated with the place we stay.
These are the individual blog posts if you want to read them from here. They are dated and appear in reverse order i.e the newest first so if you come to this page when there is more than one post, scroll to the bottom to start at the beginning.
